SOFT K

The Eni-Eye Soft K lens is a soft contact lens especially designed to fit Keratoconus cases. The base curve geometry is made up of a spheric optic zone and an aspheric periphery. The front curve has three zones, a thick optic zone to improve the optic quality, a special lenticular zone for structural stabilization, and an edge zone.

Additional Features
Additional features of the Eni-Eye Soft K Lens include:

  • Pressure balancing holes-A special system to equalize the pressure between the front and back of the lens
  • Back Toric design of up to – 1.75 DS cyl in any axis.

Application
Correction of Keratoconus

Les Material
The Eni-Eye Soft K (Xylofilcon A) (hydrophilic) Contact Lens for Keratoconus for Daily Wear lens material (Xylofilcon A) is a hydrophilic random copolymer of N-vinyl pyrrolidone, methyl methacrylate and cyclohexyl methacrylate 2-ethoxyethyl methacrylate cross-linked with allyl methacrylate with no color additives or UV absorber. When hydrated, the lens consists of 33% (Xylofilcon A) and 67% water by weight when immersed in normal saline @ 20°C.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Water Content
67.5% in saline at 20°C
Oxygen Permeability
29 x 10-11 at 35°C, DK (Fatt Scale)

Fitting Procedure

  • Trial lens set includes 3 lenses 7.30 , 7.60 , and 7.90
  • Patient history
  • Corneal Topography if possible
  • Routine slit lamp eye check
  • First choice lens 7.60, wait 30 minutes and check:
    • Movement must be 0.7mm to 1.0mm
    • The lens must be central
    • The patient feels comfortable with the lens
    • No Air bubbles
    • No edge lift
  • Acceptable vision with over refraction
  • Over refraction SPH. & CYL. (CYL. Up to –2.00DS)

Note: An auto refractor gives a false reading over this lens. Use lenses for over refraction.

Cleaning
Hydrogen Peroxide or a chemical disinfecting system (MPS) is recommended for cleaning the lens.
